Camp Details - Summer 2020:

Registration for the remaining 4 weeks will open on Wednesday, June 24th at 2:00 pm

Registration will open at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 22nd for the first two weeks of camp only. Once spots are filled you will be able to add your name to the waitlist. The waitlist option is set to 'automatic email' meaning when a spot becomes available, an email will be sent to all those on the waitlist. This is still be first come, first serve.

Please ensure that you take the time to read this handbook to avoid any unnecessary confusion. Due to COVID-19 there is no doubt that camp will look different this year and we have had to make several modifications in order to offer a program that is safe! While we know things will look different this year, we will do our best to ensure your child has a safe and fun summer.

Registration will open on Monday, June 22nd at 2:00 pm! First come, first serve!

There will be an option to select the Lifestyle Center or Puffin Center.

At this time we are only opening up the first 2 weeks of camp to gauge interest and on June 29th we will make a decision (based on the registrations) on what we are doing moving forward. In order for us to offer camp, we need to fill each of the 15 spots (for example, if we fill all 15 spots at the Lifestyle Center but only fill 10 at the Puffin Center, we will only offer camp at the Lifestyle Centre that week and a refund will be given to those at the Puffin Center). I will communicate a second registration time for the last 4 weeks of camp.

Camp Details:

  • Ages: Children must be attending kindergarten (meaning they are or are turning 5 by December 31st, 2020) and be going to no higher than grade 7 (Turning 12 by December 31st, 2020).

  • Cost: $160/week. The increase is due to COVID-related costs.

  • Camp will run for 6 weeks and will start on July 13th and ending on August 21st. We will open registration for the first 2 weeks to gauge interest and will open the remaining 4 weeks once it is decided that we have interest.

  • We must have 15 participants at each location in order to go ahead with camp. If we do not reach 15 participants, parents will be given notice of camp cancellation for that week.

  • Hours of operation: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. No early drop off or late pick up available.  All children MUST be picked up by 4:30pm every day, NO EXCEPTIONS. Every 15 minutes after 4:30pm you will be charged $10 for having our staff stay later than their scheduled shift.

  • To accommodate more children, we are offering 2 locations of camp this year. Bay Bulls Regional Lifestyle Center and Witless Bay Puffin Center.

  • Due to COVID-19 global pandemic, we have suspended field trips for the safety and staff and participants.

  • All kids and staff will complete COVID-19 related screening questionnaire every day.

  • The camp staff-to-child ratio is 1:5 in both locations, and physical distancing will be enforced whenever/wherever possible. We will be taking a maximum of 15 kids at each location, first come, first serve.

  • Children will be assigned to a leader at the beginning of the week and will stay with that leader for the entire week.

  • Staff will prepare individual kits with assigned materials and supplies for each child to use throughout the week. These are not to be shared with other children

  • Each child will have an assigned seat for eating lunch, doing crafts, store their belongings, to allow for physical distancing.

  • Regular handwashing/bathroom routines will be a part of the daily routine.

  • We are requesting that only one guardian complete drop off and pick up when possible.

  • We are required to document all persons who enter the location, as per the government guidelines. This includes, participants, guardians, leaders/staff, support workers, etc)

  • Drop off procedures will allow for social distancing and will be posted at each location. Separate entrance and exits will be identified.

  • There will be a focus on outdoor play and exploration. On rainy days and days with extreme heat exposure there will be indoor activities.

  • Green space play will be preferred with equipment that can be easily cleaned and transported from the building to any outdoor space.

  • There will be no access to microwaves and children are to bring their own utensils. We will not be providing any utensils. Kids are not to share their lunch or trade snacks.
